ABOUT OUR WINE LIST

Rocco Spagnardi, sommelier and part-owner, curates our wine list.
Focusing on the lesser known varietals, our list highlights some of Italy's most passionate producers, who take pride in respecting the unique characteristics of the land and grape varietals.
We believe wine is an essential part of a meal & choose wines that best complement our menu.
In an effort to bring you these wines at reasonable prices, we believe in a very low mark up & whenever we find a great deal on a fantastic wine, we pass it on to you.

Some highlights from our list:

ORANGE WINES!
We just got in a couple of fantastic orange wines, which are made when the freshly crushed juice of white wine grapes are left to macerate with the stems and skins for days, weeks, or even months. The resulting wines are complex, tannic, sour, orange in color and delicious.

CASTELLO DI LISPIDA - VENETO

TERRALBA 2003
100% Tocai grown on volcanic soil. Natural yeast fermentation in open wood vats and skin maceration for 1 month.
On our list at $42 .

AMPHORA 2005
100% Tocai left for 6 months with the stems and skins in sealed underground terracotta amphora.
On our list at $48 (seen in the city at $100)

*****

BADDE NIGOLOSU - SARDINIA
Badde Nigolosu makes wines that are completely natural. No added yeasts or enzymes, no filtration, clarification or barrique aging. Using only native Sardinian varietals, their wines are truly of the land.

DETTORI BIANCO 2007
100% Vermentino. The grapes are hand picked, destemmed, and left to macerate with the skins for no more than 4 days in cement vats. Aged for 3 years before bottling.
On our list at $48. (Seen in the city at $70)

*****

ANGIOLINO MAULE - VENETO
A leading proponent of natural wines in Veneto, Angiolino Maule operates a small vineyard with his wife and children. He studied with Josko Graver from Friuli, and holds a similar philosophy of wine making. No herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously.

PICO 2008
100% Garganega harvested from the volcanic hills in the town of Gambellara. Open vat natural fermentation for 1-2 days, followed by 12 months in oak casks with no sulphites added.
On our list at $44. (Seen in the city at $68)

*****

WINES FROM MOUNT ETNA!
Wines from Mount Etna have long been some of our favorite Italian wines, both white and red. The volcanic soil, combined with a higher elevation, greater temperature changes during the day, higher humidity and more rainfall than your average Sicilian vineyard, leads to incredibly elegant and well structured wines full of minerality.

We just received 3 different wines from our favorite Sicilian producer, BENANTI.

ETNA BIANCO
Using only the native Carricante grape, the Biancodicaselle is clean and crisp, while the 2001 Pietramarina is one of the best white wines we've had here in a long time. It's too good to put into words.

"BIANCODICASELLE" 2009 - $40
"PIETRAMARINA" 2001 - $150

ETNA ROSSO
Nerello Mascallese is a native Sicilian grape that is often referred to as the Pinot Noir of Sicily. Very hard to work with, but if done well, can lead to wines with incredible depth and structure. The 2002 Rovitello and the 2000 Serra Della Contessa are perfect examples of the potential of Nerello Mascallese.

ROVITELLO 2002 - $110
SERRA DELLA CONTESSA 2000 - $140
